Projects in progress
From the surface to the subterranean: the influence of subterranean spaces and habitat characteristics on species composition along a longitudinal gradient in a karstic micro basin.
The main objective of the project is to evaluate the influence of subterranean spaces as well as examine the characteristics of the physical habitat which best explain the community structure along a longitudinal gradient in a Karstic micro basin. The project is organized in three parts: 1 - Characterization of the Gruta do Éden cave fauna in periods of drought and rain in 2012. 2 - Physical characterization of aquatic environments and sampling of fish populations along a longitudinal gradient in a stream inserted in a Karstic micro basin. 3 - Physical and chemical characterization of aquatic environments and sampling of benthic fauna along a longitudinal gradient in a stream inserted in a Karstic micro basin.
